Grapht Works
Giving identity to Imperial’s newest hub for industry

Client
Brand Team, Imperial College London

Brief
Grapht Works is a new manufacturing and industrial space in London for science-led startups and scaleups. It is owned and operated by Imperial College London.

Located on an industrial estate in Acton, the space was utilitarian and visually uninspiring. Our brief was to use the existing Grapht Works brand identity to create bespoke environmental and wayfinding assets.

Time was a key factor for this project, with an incredibly tight deadline to design and install assets for the Grapht Works launch – a high-profile event for senior Imperial leadership and invited guests.

Approach
We conducted site visits to understand the space and its limitations, determining the best location for both event and permanent wayfinding assets. With a number of location and installation limitations, we focused on trying to maximise potential branding spaces and ensure best use of a utilitarian space.

Visits involved taking measurements to ensure accurate designs, and liaising with the installation team.

We worked with the Grapht Works brand guidelines to ensure the site was filled with colour, bold typography and the kinetic patterns of G’s.

Outcome
We created a suite of event and wayfinding assets, including banners, stage backdrops, digital screens, building wrap and environmental design graphics, as well as a printed event brochure and map.

The result is an elevated and unified site that has a distinct visual identity while feeling cohesive with the core Imperial College London brand.
